Welcome to The Rekai Centres 2025 Christmas Gift Drive
Hello! My name is Yvonne Burton, and I am proud to serve as a Life Enrichment Aide (LEA) at The Rekai Centres, specifically at Sherbourne Place, located at 345 Sherbourne St. The Rekai Centre at Sherbourne Place exudes warmth within the walls of this intimate 126 bed long term care home located directly across the road from Allen’s Garden. There are 5 private rooms with the remainder being semi-privates (2 persons to a room). Sherbourne Place also provides 6 beds for residents requiring peritoneal dialysis care in collaboration with St. Michael’s Hospital.
The staff celebrate the culture and traditions of our residents with our Food Services Dept offering culturally appropriate foods where possible. For example, the Home provides Chinese food to the over 30% of our residents who are of Chinese background.
At The Rekai Centres, we are committed to providing a warm, supportive, and enriching environment for our residents. Long-term care homes like ours play a crucial role in the community by offering comprehensive care and assistance to seniors who need support with daily living activities. We focus not just on physical well-being, but also on emotional, social, and mental health, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
As an Activationist, my role is to enhance the quality of life for our residents through meaningful activities and engagements. This involves organizing events, recreational activities, and programs that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents, promoting their social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall happiness.
This holiday season, we are excited to launch our Christmas Gift Drive, an initiative aimed at bringing festive cheer and warmth to the residents of The Rekai Centres. The joy of receiving a thoughtful gift can make a world of difference in the lives of our seniors, especially during these times.
We have compiled a list of items that would greatly benefit and delight our residents, and we invite you to be a part of this heartwarming endeavor. Your generosity can light up the holidays for someone and show them how much they are cherished in our community.
Please join us in making this Christmas a memorable one for the wonderful residents of The Rekai Centres. Your support is not just a gift; it’s a gesture of love and compassion.
For more information on how you can contribute, please see the details below in our contact area.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
Warm regards,
Yvonne Burton
